The Allstate Sugar Bowl has been a lacrosse leader in Louisiana since first hosting a high school tournament in 2007. The Bowl has hosted 10 high school lacrosse tournaments, welcoming thousands of young boys and girls players to the area for the events. In addition, the Sugar Bowl hosted multiple collegiate club lacrosse matches and it even sponsored the Louisiana high school lacrosse championships. In 2024 (May 8-10), the Allstate Sugar Bowl will sponsor the Gulf States Lacrosse Championships at The Willow School Stadium. The top two teams Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama will come to New Orleans to play for the championship. There will be two quarterfinal games on Friday night (5 & 8 p.m.) and two semifinals on Saturday (2 & 5 p.m.). The Gulf States Lacrosse League Championship game will be played at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. There are also youth all-star games on Saturday at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 12 p.m., as well as a youth club game at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

Lacrosse is recognized as one of the fastest growing team sports in the United States; the sport has seen youth participation grow over 500 percent since 1999 – in 2023, it was selected as one of five sports to be added to the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. As the sport continues to evolve in Louisiana, the Sugar Bowl remains an advocate for the sport and its young competitors.

Allstate Sugar Bowl Collegiate Lacrosse Series

In addition to its high school lacrosse event, the Allstate Sugar Bowl sponsored a collegiate series for five years. The event featured collegiate club varsity programs.
