Louisiana’s Own Amanda Shaw to Perform at Allstate Louisiana Kickoff

Bayou Country Queen Will Sing National Anthem and Perform Her Latest Song at Halftime

Amanda Shaw 2022NEW ORLEANS (September 1, 2022) – Energetic Louisiana fiddler Amanda Shaw will sing the national anthem to kick off the Allstate Louisiana Kickoff on Sunday, September 4, at the Caesars Superdome. The Allstate Louisiana Kickoff will feature Florida State and LSU and is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff. The game is being hosted by the Sugar Bowl Committee in partnership with the Louisiana Office of Tourism and Allstate.

While the game is sold out, fans still seeking tickets are encouraged to explore options on the secondary market.

"I've performed the national anthem quite a bit, and it's always a tremendous honor,'' said Shaw, who has been in the music entertainment business since she was 10. "Performing at NBA games, the (New Orleans) Hornets and then the (New Orleans) Pelicans, is always exciting, but as a girl who grew up in Louisiana, to go out in the middle of the green field of the Superdome for a game is amazing. There's nothing more exhilarating than to have all those people come together and cheer at the end of the song. It's so intense; it's hard to put into words."

In addition to her performance of The Star-Spangled Banner, Shaw will team up with New Orleans hip hop artist Choppa at halftime to perform their thrilling collaboration of the Cajun classic Louisiana Saturday Night. The new take on the country classic reflects the unique flavor of both artists and the eclectic personality of their home state.

Fans are encouraged to light up the Dome during the halftime performance by participating in the Fan Light Show presented by Capital One. Participation is free and easy through the Allstate Sugar Bowl mobile app (free on the Apple and Google stores).

Louisiana Saturday Night is best known for pumping up party guests, football fans, and family get-togethers with local lyrics and its iconic beat. This exciting remake infuses two homegrown Louisiana genres, Cajun and Bounce, into a fresh new single. The unique collaboration of the local artists showcases the diversity of music and culture – the essence of what makes Louisiana special.

"As a proud Louisianian, I am deeply rooted in local culture and always inspired and influenced by the experiences that fill your soul with joy," said Shaw. "Louisiana Saturday Night is a song that encompasses those experiences through meaningful lyrics. I am honored to reimagine the amazing classic with my friend, Choppa, a talented artist who is equally as passionate about great music that's as diverse as our culture."

The thrilling rendition of Louisiana Saturday Night gives new life to a longtime Louisiana anthem by paying homage to Cajun adventure. Just in time for football season and fall festivals, locals are sure to embrace the high-energy single that blends the diverse sounds of two talented artists in a way that sweetly celebrates life in Louisiana.

"Louisiana is a special place and this song vividly tells the story of local culture and everyday life," said Choppa. "Our remake of Louisiana Saturday Night is a great reflection of our diversity and showcases a new era of music with a song that will capture the hearts of old fans, and gain some new ones along the way."
