Plaeager, a freshman an Ecole Classique, was selected as the Sugar Bowl Athlete of the Month for June of 1983. Plaeger, who runs for the Crescent City Track Club, won the pentathlon in the 13-14-year-old age group at the TAC National Track & Field meet in Fayont, Ohio.
