Marc Desjardins - March 1984 Athlete of the Month

Desjardins, the ace pitcher for the Tulane baseball team, was selected as the Sugar Bowl Athlete of the Month for March of 1984. Desjardins was 6-1 and had a 3.14 earned run average in March. He allowed only 18 earned runs in 51 2/3 innings. 

Runners-up for the honor were the Greenies' Danny Wagner, who hit .446 during March, and Tulane basketball star John Williams, who was named the Metro Conference Player of the Year and honorable mention All-America by the Associated Press.
