Terry, the standout big man for the UNO basketball team, was selected as the Sugar Bowl Athlete of the Month for February of 1979. The UNO star was cited for equaling a school record of 25 rebounds against Georgia State on Feb. 10. The mark also set a Sun Belt Conference record. The UNO cager finished the season with 11.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, second in both categories to teammate Miek Edwards. At season's end, the 6-10 junior was named center on the Sun Belt All-Star team named by The Times-Picayune.
