Lumar, a Riverdale High graduate now starring at Nicholls State, was selected as the Sugar Bowl Athlete of the Month for November of 1996. Lumar, who became the first 1,000-yard risher in Nicholls State history in 1996, gained 522 yards on 132 carries while scoring five touchdowns in November.
