Ducree, the star running back for Pearl River High School, was selected as the Sugar Bowl Athlete of the Month for October of 1997. A 5-8, 190-pound senior, Ducree led St. Tammany Parish in rushing. On Oct. 25, he rushed for 308 yards and seven touchdowns in the Rebels' 50-38 victory over Booker T. Washington. Ducree had more than 200 yards in four of his five games in October, and he finished the season with 1,781 yards and 21 touchdowns.
