Kordell Stewart - September 1994 Athlete of the Month

Stewart, a John Ehret graduate and now a star at the University of Colorado, was named the Sugar Bowl Athlete of the Month for September of 1994. Stewart, a senior, quarterbacked the Buffaloes to the No. 4 ranking in the nation in September. He is ranked third in the country in passing efficiency and total offense. The highlight of the month came in a showdown on the road at Michigan. With Colorado trailing 26-21 with six seconds to go, Stewart heaved the ball more than 70 yards to the end zone. On a designed play, Blake Anderson deflected the pass to Michael Westbrook who secured it for the victory which became known as the "Miracle at Michigan."
