Mike Romano - April 1992 Athlete of the Month

Romano, a Chalmette High School graduate and the ace of the Tulane pitching staff, was named the Sugar Bowl Athlete of the Month for April of 1992. Romano was 6-0 in April with a 1.35 ERA. “I can’t say enough about the way he’s pitched this year," said Tulane coach Joe Brockhoff. "He lost a tough two-hitter to Georgia, 1-0, in the Busch Challenge, but he didn’t let it get to him. He has great bounce-back capacity. He’s got a big heart. He always wants the ball in the big games.”
