Allen, a John Ehret graduate and the star of the Tulane men's basketball team, was a co-winner of the Sugar Bowl Athlete of the Month for January of 1995. A sophomore, Allen averaged 17.1 points and 9.0 rebounds while shooting 52.6 percent from the field for the Green Wave.
