NEW ORLEANS (September 28, 2026) – Oregon's Dylan Raiola and Ohio State's Julian Sayin were among eight quarterbacks selected as Manning Award Stars of the Week, sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, following standout performances during Week 4 of the college football season.

Raiola came off the bench and passed for 289 yards and two touchdowns to lead No. 20 Oregon to a 41-27 victory over No. 12 USC.

Sayin completed 27 of 36 passes for 367 yards and four touchdowns while adding 29 rushing yards and a touchdown in Ohio State's 42-19 Big Ten victory over Illinois.

The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2004 to honor the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes candidates' bowl performances in its balloting.
Since the Manning Award began recognizing Stars of the Week in 2011, 624 different quarterbacks from 138 schools have been recognized.

This week's eight Manning Award Stars of the Week are:

Mason Heintschel, Pitt (29-of-37, 403 yards, 6 TDs) – Heintschel delivered a dominant performance Saturday, completing 29 of 37 passes for 403 yards and six touchdowns in Pittsburgh's 59-0 win over Bucknell. Heintschel connected with nine different receivers and helped the Panthers set school records with 766 total yards and 574 passing yards. His six touchdown passes marked his second game this season with at least six scoring throws.

Maddux Madsen, Boise State (16-of-25, 204 yards, 3 TDs) – Madsen turned in an efficient performance, completing 16 of 25 passes for 204 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions in Boise State's 32-7 win at Western Michigan. Madsen threw touchdown passes of 34 yards to Matt Wagner in the first quarter, six yards to Ben Ford in the third and two yards to Wagner in the fourth. He also rushed four times for 29 yards.

David McComb, Miami (OH) (19-of-29, 312 yards, 3 TDs) – McComb turned in an impressive performance Saturday, throwing for 312 yards and two touchdowns while adding a rushing score to lead Miami (Ohio) to a 24-21 comeback win over UConn. McComb completed 19 of 29 passes, including a 57-yard completion, and helped the RedHawks rally from a 14-point deficit.

Dylan Raiola, Oregon (19-of-25, 289 yards, 3 TDs) – Raiola passed for 289 yards and two touchdowns after star Dante Moore's injury, leading No. 20 Oregon to a 41-27 victory over No. 12 USC. Raiola threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Evan Stewart on his second snap. He then led the Ducks to 270 yards and four touchdown drives in the second half, including Dakorien Moore's go-ahead, 29-yard touchdown catch with 8:35 to play.

Keelon Russell, Alabama (21-of-27, 365 yards, 5 total TDs) – Russell delivered a five-touchdown performance Saturday, leading No. 8 Alabama to a 49-18 win over South Carolina. Russell completed 21 of 27 passes for a career-high 365 yards and four touchdowns without an interception, while adding 35 rushing yards and another score. The performance gave Russell 400 total yards and marked his third game this season with at least 300 yards of total offense.

Julian Sayin, Ohio State (27-of-36, 367 yards, 5 total TDs) – Sayin turned in his best performance of the season Saturday, completing 27 of 36 passes for 367 yards and four touchdowns while adding 29 rushing yards and a touchdown in Ohio State's 42-19 win over Illinois. Sayin completed his first eight passes for 143 yards and two touchdowns and helped the Buckeyes build a 28-10 halftime lead. His five total touchdowns were a career high.

Davis Warren, Stanford (22-of-36, 396 yards, 3 TDs) – Warren turned in a career performance Saturday, throwing for a career-high 396 yards and three touchdowns to lead Stanford to a 34-27 comeback win over Georgia Tech. Warren completed 22 of 36 passes and helped the ardinal rally from a 20-10 halftime deficit by throwing three touchdown passes in the second half. He connected with Caden High for a 49-yard touchdown and later found Nico Brown for a 33-yard score.

Connor Weigman, Houston (17-of-22, 239 yards, 6 total TDs) – Weigman accounted for six touchdowns Saturday, leading No. 25 Houston to a 42-28 win over Georgia Southern. Weigman completed 17 of 22 passes for 239 yards and four touchdowns while adding two rushing scores. He threw touchdown passes to four different receivers as Houston scored on its first six possessions.

The Manning Award selected 40 quarterbacks for its Watch List in the preseason and will add additional quarterbacks on October 23. Finalists will be selected in early December, and the winner is scheduled to be announced following the College Football Playoff National Championship.

In its first 22 years, the Manning Award has recognized the top names in college football. It has honored quarterbacks from 16 different schools and five different conferences.

The Southeastern Conference (Jayden Daniels, Stetson Bennett, Bryce Young, Joe Burrow, Mac Jones, Johnny Manziel, Cam Newton, JaMarcus Russell and Tim Tebow) leads the way with nine Manning Award honorees, while the Big 12 Conference (Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield, Vince Young, Colt McCoy and Robert Griffin III) and the Atlantic Coast Conference (Cam Ward, Deshaun Watson twice, Matt Ryan and Jameis Winston) have each had five winners.

All the Manning Award winners follow in the footsteps of the Mannings themselves. In college, Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning combined for more than 25,000 passing yards and 201 touchdowns while playing in 10 bowl games and earning four bowl MVP awards. Archie was the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft, while both Peyton and Eli were selected No. 1 overall.

The Allstate Sugar Bowl has established itself as one of the premier college football bowl games, having hosted 29 national champions, 114 Hall of Fame players, 55 Hall of Fame coaches and 21 Heisman Trophy winners in its 92-year history.
