
NEW ORLEANS (September 30, 2025) – The Allstate Sugar Bowl has announced this week's
Manning Award Futures – four local high school quarterbacks who turned in outstanding performances on the football field this past weekend.
The recognition is entitled "Futures" as these high school stars are potential future candidates for the
Manning Award, which recognizes the top collegiate quarterback in the nation on an annual basis. It was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2004 to honor the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning.
The Sugar Bowl has had the opportunity to recognize 112 quarterbacks from 51 different high schools since the honor's inception in 2020.
Manning Award Futures – High School QBs of the Week, 9/30/25:
Hudson Fields, Brother Martin (21-of-30, 323 yards, TD)
Fields, who connected on a 60-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the game, directed a seven-play drive in the final minute to set up the game-winning 38-yard field goal as the Crusaders shocked Jesuit, 31-29 in the District 9-5A opener Friday at Tad Gormley Stadium.
Da'John Howard, Salmen (7-of-12, 253 total yards, 3 TDs)
Howard passed for 172 yards and two touchdowns while also running for 81 yards and a score as the Spartans posted a 38-22 win over Liberty in their home opener on Friday.
Brady Loudermilk, Lakeshore (4-of-6, 267 total yards, 1 TD)
Loudermilk ran for 193 yards and a touchdown, including a 50-yard touchdown on a QB draw in the first quarter, as the undefeated Titans topped Northlake Christian, 28-8, on Friday at Wolverine Stadium.
Jake Randle, Newman (12-of-15, 325 total yards, 4 TDs)
Randle finished with 220 rushing yards and three touchdowns (including runs of 64 and 69 yards) on 14 carries while also passing for 105 yards and a TD as the Greenies defeated Willow, 40-8, on Friday at Michael Pupin Field.
The
Allstate Sugar Bowl has established itself as one of the premier college football bowl games, having hosted 29 national champions, 110 Hall of Fame players, 55 Hall of Fame coaches and 21 Heisman Trophy winners in its 91-year history. The 92nd Allstate Sugar Bowl Football Classic, which will double as a College Football Playoff Quarterfinal, is scheduled to be played on January 1, 2026. In addition to football, the Sugar Bowl Committee annually invests over $1 million into the community through the hosting and sponsorship of sporting events, awards, scholarships and clinics. Through these efforts, the organization supports and honors thousands of student-athletes each year, while injecting over $2.5 billion into the local economy in the last decade.
