NEW ORLEANS (November 19, 2025) – Fans have selected Missouri State's Jacob Clark as the
Manning Award Quarterback of the Week. He earned the honor over seven other Manning Award
Stars of the Week in the Allstate Sugar Bowl's online fan voting contest. It is Clark's second time earning the honor as he also won after his week two performance.
Clark, who connected on a season-best four touchdown passes while setting the school record with 30 completions, led two long fourth-quarter drives, capping both with TD strikes, to lift the Bears to a 38-24 CUSA win over UTEP. He finished his day 30-of-39 for 330 yards with no interceptions.
The Rockwall, Texas, native surpassed 300 passing yards for the 10th time in his career and tied the program record with his 19th career 200-yard passing game. He was also named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week for his performance.
The Bears will return to action this Saturday when they travel to Kennesaw State for a CUSA matchup. Both teams come in at 7-3 overall and 5-1 in conference play and are battling to advance to the CUSA Championship game (both are in a three-way tie for second place). Kickoff is at 2:00 p.m. CST on ESPN+.
The other Manning Award Stars of the Week were Carlos Del Rio-Wilson (Marshall), Dru DeShields (Kent State), Katin Houser (East Carolina), Fernando Mendoza (Indiana), Marcel Reed (Texas A&M), Gunner Stockton (Georgia), and Rodney Tisdale Jr. (Western Kentucky).
In its first 21 years, the Manning Award has recognized the top names in college football. It has honored quarterbacks from 15 different schools and from four different conferences. The Southeastern Conference (Jayden Daniels, Stetson Bennett, Bryce Young, Joe Burrow, Mac Jones, Johnny Manziel, Cam Newton, JaMarcus Russell and Tim Tebow) leads the way with nine Manning Award honorees, while the Big 12 Conference (Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield, Vince Young, Colt McCoy and Robert Griffin III) and the Atlantic Coast Conference (Cam Ward, Deshaun Watson twice, Matt Ryan and Jameis Winston) have each had five winners.
All the Manning Award winners follow in the footsteps of the Mannings themselves. In college, Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning combined for over 25,000 passing yards and 201 touchdowns while playing in 10 bowl games and earning four bowl MVP awards. Archie was the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft, while both Peyton and Eli were selected No. 1 overall.
