SagapoluteleNEW ORLEANS (November 12, 2025) – Fans have selected California's Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele as the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week. He earned the honor over seven other Manning Award Stars of the Week in the Allstate Sugar Bowl's online fan voting contest.

Sagapolutele, who completed 30-of-47 passes for 323 yards and two touchdowns, delivered the game-winning TD pass on a three-yard pass on fourth-and-goal in overtime to lead the Bears to an upset of No. 15 Louisville, 29-26. It was Cal's first win over a top 15 opponent since 2019. Sagapolutele recorded career-highs in passing yards, completions, and attempts and it was the 10th straight 200-yard game to start his career.

The Ewa Beach, Hawaii, native was selected as the ACC Rookie of the Week and Quarterback of the Week. Sagapolutele is tied for second in the ACC and tied for sixth nationally in completions. On the season, he has completed 224-of-364 passes for 2,518 yards along with 13 touchdown throws.

The Bears will return to action on November 22 when they travel to Stanford for their annual Big Game matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT on the ACC Network.

The other Manning Award Stars of the Week were Byrum Brown (South Florida), Joe Fagnano (Connecticut), Tucker Gleason (Toledo), Athan Kaliakmanis (Rutgers), TJ Lateef (Nebraska), Diego Pavia (Vanderbilt), and Jake Retzlaff (Tulane).

In its first 21 years, the Manning Award has recognized the top names in college football. It has honored quarterbacks from 15 different schools and from four different conferences. The Southeastern Conference (Jayden Daniels, Stetson Bennett, Bryce Young, Joe Burrow, Mac Jones, Johnny Manziel, Cam Newton, JaMarcus Russell and Tim Tebow) leads the way with nine Manning Award honorees, while the Big 12 Conference (Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield, Vince Young, Colt McCoy and Robert Griffin III) and the Atlantic Coast Conference (Cam Ward, Deshaun Watson twice, Matt Ryan and Jameis Winston) have each had five winners.

All the Manning Award winners follow in the footsteps of the Mannings themselves. In college, Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning combined for over 25,000 passing yards and 201 touchdowns while playing in 10 bowl games and earning four bowl MVP awards. Archie was the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft, while both Peyton and Eli were selected No. 1 overall.
