Allstate Sugar Bowl High School Lacrosse Classic
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Allstate Sugar Bowl will not be able to sponsor any lacrosse events in 2020-21.
The Allstate Sugar Bowl Lacrosse Classic was held in January starting in 2007 and was annually hosted by The Louisiana Chapter of US Lacrosse. The event typically features 40-plus teams at the varsity and junior varsity levels, as well as 14U, 12U and 10U teams from throughout the region.
Hoover High School from Hoover, Ala., defeated UMS-Wright from Mobile to win the 2018 high school event.
Lacrosse is recognized as one of the fastest growing team sports in the United States; the sport has seen youth participation grow over 500 percent since 1999 to nearly 250,000. The Allstate Sugar Bowl Lacrosse Series shows that growth as well. The inaugural Allstate Sugar Bowl high school lacrosse event in 2007 had eight teams participating. Since that time, the Sugar Bowl has taken on sponsorship of multiple events, including a spring lacrosse tourney with over 80 high school teams participating.
Allstate Sugar Bowl Collegiate Lacrosse Series
In addition to its high school lacrosse event, the Allstate Sugar Bowl sponsored a collegiate series for five years. The event featured collegiate club varsity programs.
