Ron Sancho, a standout linebacker for LSU, was named the Sugar Bowl Athlete of the Month for November of 1988. Sancho, a Gretna native and a former Archbishop Shaw football standout, had 13 solo tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble, and a pass break-up in LSU's victory over Alabama on Nov. 5.
