Warner, a 6-7 center for Booker T. Washington High School, was selected as the Sugar Bowl Athlete of the Month for February of 1980. Warner averaged 16 points and nine rebounds in leading the Lions to 15 straight victories during February. He was named to The Times-Picayune's Class AAAA All-District and All-Metro teams.
