Leory Hoard - November 1984 Athlete of the Month
Football, St. Augustine High School
Hoard, a junior running back for the St. Augustine football team, was selected as the Sugar Bowl Athlete of the Month for November of 1984. The 195-pounder rushed for 248 yards on 22 carries in a 32-14 victory over De La Salle. He scored on runs of 25 and 51 yards and he also had runs of 19, 22, 29, and 37 yards as the Purple Knights tied for the District 11-AAAA championship.
The Country Day passing combination of quarterback John White and receiver Brian Streiffer were also nominated for the November award.
