Donaldson, a star golfer for Pope John Paul II High School, was selected as the Sugar Bowl Athlete of the Month for September of 1990. Donaldson, 17, won the Louisiana Women's Golf Association Amateur Championship on Sept. 21. She defeated two-time champion Debbie Rivers, 2 and 1, in a 36-hole final played at Toro Hills Golf Course in Florien, La.
