NEW ORLEANS (October 19, 2021) – The Allstate Sugar Bowl has announced this week’s Manning Award Futures – four local high school quarterbacks who turned in outstanding performances on the football field this past weekend. Fans now have the opportunity to go to Twitter (@SugarBowlNola) to vote for their favorite performance of the week.

The Manning Award, which recognizes the top collegiate quarterback in the nation on an annual basis, was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2004 to honor the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning.
Manning Award Futures – High School QBs of the Week, 10/18/21:
Tyler Dickson, Belle Chasse High School (1-of-3, 167 total yards, 1 TD)
Dickson, who runs 26 times for 157 yards, keys the Cardinal offense as Belle Chasse tops Lakeshore 31-30 in an overtime thriller.
Jack Gillikin, Salmen High School (10-of-14, 245 total yards, 3 TDs)
Gillikin, who passes for 213 yards and runs for 32, connects on touchdowns of 73, 44 and 21 yards as he rallies the Spartans in the second half for their fifth straight win, 35-22 win over McMain.
Rex Henderson, Mandeville High School (14-of-21, 208 total yards)
Henderson, who completed nine passes of 10 or more yards, keyed the Skippers offense as they defeated Fontainebleau, 27-3, in District 6-5A play.
Nolan Tribble, Ponchatoula High School (10-of-20, 241 yards, 5 TDs)
Tribble, who rests the final quarter with a big lead, leads the Green Wave to 28 third-quarter points as they pull away for a 56-14 win over Slidell in District 6-5A play.
The Allstate Sugar Bowl has established itself as one of the premier college football bowl games, having hosted 28 national champions, 99 Hall of Fame players, 51 Hall of Fame coaches and 19 Heisman Trophy winners in its 87-year history. The 88th Allstate Sugar Bowl Football Classic, which will feature top teams from the Big 12 and the SEC, is scheduled to be played on January 1, 2022. In addition to football, the Sugar Bowl Committee annually invests over $1 million into the community through the hosting and sponsorship of sporting events, awards, scholarships and clinics. Through these efforts, the organization supports and honors thousands of student-athletes each year, while injecting over $2.7 billion into the local economy in the last decade.
