Eight Quarterbacks Named Manning Award Stars of the Week

Fans Vote to Select Overall Manning Quarterback of the Week

NEW ORLEANS (September 15, 2025) – The Manning Award, sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, has named eight quarterbacks as its "Stars of the Week." College football fans can follow the Manning Award on social media (@ManningAward) to vote for what they think was the best performance from this past weekend. When voting closes on Wednesday at 9 a.m. (Central), the top vote-getter will be announced as the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week.

VOTE TO BEGIN SHORTLY.

The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2004 to honor the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting. Since the Manning Award started recognizing Stars of the Week in 2011, 583 different quarterbacks from 136 schools have been recognized. Seventy-four players were honored during the 2024 season.

This week's eight Manning Award Stars of the Week are:

Carson Beck, Miami (23-of-28, 368 total yards, 4 TDs, 2 INT, QBR: 91.4)
Beck, who notched his 10th career 300-yard passing game with 340 yards, connected on a pair of first-quarter touchdowns to get the Hurricanes rolling as they cruised to a 49-12 win over No. 18 South Florida.

Trinidad Chambliss, Ole Miss (21-of-29, 415 total yards, 3 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 89.5)
Chambliss, a transfer from Division II Ferris State, made his first career start and threw for 353 yards and a touchdown while adding a pair of rushing TDs to lead the Rebels to a 41-35 SEC win over Arkansas.

Colton Joseph, Old Dominion (16-of-22, 339 total yards, 3 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 96.1)
Joseph, who passed for 276 yards and ran for 63 more, led the Monarchs to 28 first-half points as they posted a 45-26 win over Virginia Tech for the program's first-ever road win over a power four conference opponent.

Haynes King, Georgia Tech (20-of-28, 314 total yards, 1 TD, 0 INT, QBR: 69.1)
King, who passed for 211 yards and ran for 103 yards, scored on a one-yard run early in the fourth quarter and then drove the Yellow Jackets into position for the game-winning field goal as time ran out in a thrilling 24-21 win over No. 12 Clemson in ACC action.

Marcel Reed, Texas A&M (17-of-37, 397 total yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT, QBR: 77.9)
Reed, who threw for a career-best 360 yards, eluded a defender and connected on an 11-yard touchdown pass with 13 seconds to go to lift the Aggies to a thrilling 41-40 road win over No. 8 Notre Dame for their first road win over a Top 25 team since 2014.

Ta'Quan Roberson, Buffalo (28-of-40, 381 total yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT, QBR: 66.7)
Roberson, who passed for a career-best 318 yards, delivered a 22-yard touchdown pass with 1:03 remaining to lift the Bulls to a 31-28 MAC victory over Kent State on the road.

Ty Simpson, Alabama (24-of-29, 407 total yards, 4 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 89.8)
Simpson, who connected on a 75-yard catch-and-run touchdown to open the third quarter, notched his career-high with 383 passing yards as the Crimson Tide rolled to a 38-14 win over Wisconsin.

Gunner Stockton, Georgia (23-of-31, 342 total yards, 3 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 93.4)
Stockton, who was making his first road start, passed for a career-best 304 yards and delivered a 28-yard fade to the end zone on 4th-and-6 with 2:32 remaining in regulation and then was successful on the two-point conversion pass to force overtime as the Bulldogs came back to top No. 15 Tennessee, 44-41, in an SEC road game.

While the Manning Award selected 27 quarterbacks for its preseason Watch List, additional quarterbacks are expected to be added to the Watch List later in the season. Finalists will be selected in early December and the winner is scheduled to be announced following the College Football Playoff National Championship.

In its first 21 years, the Manning Award has recognized the top names in college football. It has honored quarterbacks from 15 different schools and from four different conferences. The Southeastern Conference (Jayden Daniels, Stetson Bennett, Bryce Young, Joe Burrow, Mac Jones, Johnny Manziel, Cam Newton, JaMarcus Russell and Tim Tebow) leads the way with nine Manning Award honorees, while the Big 12 Conference (Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield, Vince Young, Colt McCoy and Robert Griffin III) and the Atlantic Coast Conference (Cam Ward, Deshaun Watson twice, Matt Ryan and Jameis Winston) have each had five winners.

All the Manning Award winners follow in the footsteps of the Mannings themselves. In college, Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning combined for over 25,000 passing yards and 201 touchdowns while playing in 10 bowl games and earning four bowl MVP awards. Archie was the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft, while both Peyton and Eli were selected No. 1 overall.
