NEW ORLEANS (November 3, 2025) – The
Manning Award, sponsored by the
Allstate Sugar Bowl, has named eight quarterbacks as its "
Stars of the Week." College football fans can follow the Manning Award on social media (@ManningAward) to vote for what they think was the best performance from this past weekend. When voting closes on Wednesday at 9 a.m. (Central), the top vote-getter will be announced as the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week.
Voting will be live at 11 a.m. Central.
The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2004 to honor the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting. Since the Manning Award started recognizing Stars of the Week in 2011, 601 different quarterbacks from 138 schools have been recognized. Fifth-nine players have been honored so far in 2025.
This week's eight Manning Award Stars of the Week are:
CJ Bailey, NC State (24-of-32, 374 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 97.5)
Bailey, who connected on a key 55-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter, had an exceptional day as he led the Wolfpack to a 48-26 ACC win over No. 8 Georgia Tech for its first win over a top-10 opponent in more than four years.
Alonza Barnett III, James Madison (12-of-18, 362 total yards, 5 TDs, 1 INT, QBR: 94.1)
Barnett, who passed for 264 yards and ran for 98 more, connected on a 75-yard touchdown pass on the first drive of the second half then added another TD pass and a TD run later in the third as the Dukes ran away from Texas State, 52-20, in a Sun Belt road game.
Walker Eget, San José State (20-of-40, 473 total yards, 2 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 83.4)
Eget, who extended his streak to 268 straight passes without an interception, posted his second 450-yard game of the season and led the Spartans to 630 total yards, the most in a Mountain West game since 2013, as they held off Hawai'i, 45-38.
Kevin Jennings, SMU (29-of-44, 365 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 67.6)
Jennings, who recorded a career-best 365 passing yards, completed five passes for 69 yards to set up the game-tying field goal with 25 seconds to go as the Mustangs upended No. 10 Miami, 26-20 in overtime, for their first win over a top-10 team since 1983.
Arch Manning, Texas (25-of-33, 332 total yards, 3 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 93.1)
Manning, who opened his day with a 75-yard catch-and-run touchdown connection, became the first Longhorn with consecutive games of 300+ yards and 3+ touchdowns since 2018 as he keyed a 34-31 SEC win over No. 10 Vanderbilt.
Owen McCown, UTSA (31-of-33, 370 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 95.2)
McCown, who broke school records for consecutive completions (16) and completion percentage (.939, the best of any FBS quarterback with 20-plus this season), led the Roadrunners to 31 unanswered points after they fell behind early in a 48-26 win over Tulane in American action.
Darian Mensah, Duke (27-of-41, 361 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 91.4)
Mensah directed an 11-play, 94-yard game-tying drive, including converting a pair of fourth downs, and then delivered the successful two-point conversion pass with 40 seconds to go to lift the Blue Devils to a 46-45 ACC win over Clemson – their first win at Clemson since 1980.
Jeff Sims, Arizona State (13-of-24, 405 total yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT, QBR: 66.1)
Sims, who earned his first win as a starter since 2022, broke free for an 88-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and set the school record for rushing yards by a quarterback with 228 in a 24-19 Big 12 road win over Iowa State.
While the Manning Award selected 27 quarterbacks for its preseason
Watch List, additional quarterbacks are expected to be added to the Watch List later in the season. Finalists will be selected in early December and the winner is scheduled to be announced following the College Football Playoff National Championship.
In its first 21 years, the Manning Award has recognized the top names in college football. It has honored quarterbacks from 15 different schools and from four different conferences. The Southeastern Conference (Jayden Daniels, Stetson Bennett, Bryce Young, Joe Burrow, Mac Jones, Johnny Manziel, Cam Newton, JaMarcus Russell and Tim Tebow) leads the way with nine Manning Award honorees, while the Big 12 Conference (Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield, Vince Young, Colt McCoy and Robert Griffin III) and the Atlantic Coast Conference (Cam Ward, Deshaun Watson twice, Matt Ryan and Jameis Winston) have each had five winners.
All the Manning Award winners follow in the footsteps of the Mannings themselves. In college, Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning combined for over 25,000 passing yards and 201 touchdowns while playing in 10 bowl games and earning four bowl MVP awards. Archie was the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft, while both Peyton and Eli were selected No. 1 overall.
