The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2004 to honor the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting. Since the Manning Award started recognizing Stars of the Week in 2011, 491 different quarterbacks from 132 schools have been recognized. Sixty players from 58 different schools were honored during the 2022 season.

This week's eight Manning Award Stars of the Week are:

Brady Cook, Missouri (33-of-41, 395 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 87.9)
Cook, who completes 25 of his first 29 passes, sets the SEC record for consecutive passes without an interception (348) while tallying his career-best for passing yards and touchdowns as the Tigers remain undefeated with a 38-21 SEC road win over Vanderbilt.

Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss (26-of-39, 389 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 91.2)
Dart, who runs for a short touchdown with 5:06 to go, completes a 13-yard TD delivery with 39 seconds remaining to lead the Rebels to their most points ever against an AP ranked team in a wild 55-49 victory over SEC rival LSU.

Dequan Finn, Toledo (16-of-20, 281 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 95.2)
Finn, who adds 61 rushing yards a touchdown, connects on a 68-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter that proves to be the difference as the Rockets hold off Northern Illinois in a 35-33 MAC victory.

Gabriel, who also runs for a pair of touchdowns, notches the 17th 300-yard game of his career as he leads the Sooners to 523 total yards against the Big 12's leading defense in a 50-20 conference win over Iowa State.

Jaylen Raynor, Arkansas State (20-of-25, 383 yards, 6 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 93.4)
Raynor, who matches the Red Wolves program record for touchdown passes in a game, becomes just the fourth true freshman since 2013 to connect on six TD passes in a game, as he leads his team to a 52-28 road win over UMass.

Taulia Tagovailoa, Maryland (24-of-34, 352 yards, 5 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 95.0)
Tagovailoa, who adds a rushing touchdown, opens his day with a 62-yard completion as he leads the Terrapins to 21 first-quarter points in a 44-17 Big Ten victory over Indiana for Maryland's first 5-0 start since 2001.

Caleb Williams, USC (30-of-40, 403 yards, 6 TDs, 1 INT, QBR: 93.1)
Williams, who completed 17 straight passes in one stretch, matches his career-best for touchdown passes as he helps the Trojans build a big lead that they hold onto for a 48-41 Pac-12 road victory over Colorado.

Cardell Williams, Tulsa (14-of-17, 244 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 95.1)
Williams, who also runs 10 times for a career-best 90 yards and a touchdown, becomes the third Tulsa freshman with a 4-TD game as he leads the Golden Hurricane to a 48-26 AAC victory over Temple.

While the Manning Award selected 30 quarterbacks for its preseason Watch List, additional quarterbacks are expected to be added to the Watch List later in the season. Ten finalists will be selected and the winner is scheduled to be announced following the College Football Playoff National Championship.

In its first 19 years, the Manning Award has recognized the top names in college football. It has honored quarterbacks from 14 different schools and from four different conferences. The Southeastern Conference (Stetson Bennett, Bryce Young, Joe Burrow, Mac Jones, Johnny Manziel, Cam Newton, JaMarcus Russell and Tim Tebow) leads the way with eight Manning Award honorees, while the Big 12 Conference (Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield, Vince Young, Colt McCoy and Robert Griffin III) has had five winners. The Atlantic Coast Conference (Deshaun Watson twice, Matt Ryan and Jameis Winston) has had four Manning Award winners. Alabama (Bryce Young and Jones), LSU (Burrow and Russell), Oklahoma (Murray and Mayfield), and Texas (McCoy and Vince Young) have each produced a pair of Manning Award winners.

All the Manning Award winners follow in the footsteps of the Mannings themselves. In college, Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning combined for over 25,000 passing yards and 201 touchdowns while playing in 10 bowl games and earning four bowl MVP awards. Archie was the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft, while both Peyton and Eli were selected No. 1 overall.
