Allstate Sugar Bowl Partners With Vet Tix
NEW ORLEANS (December 23, 2019) – The Allstate Sugar Bowl and Veteran Ticket Foundation (Vet Tix) have launched a new partnership which will pave the way for hundreds of armed forces veterans, currently-serving military and reservists to attend the 86th annual Allstate Sugar Bowl on January 1, 2020 in New Orleans.
“Our mission is to give something to those who gave, and the commitment the Allstate Sugar Bowl has made to partner with Vet Tix is a perfect fit, with its rich history of great games and championships,” said Mike Focareto, U.S. Navy veteran, CEO and Founder of Veteran Tickets Foundation. “This collaboration will provide opportunities for all our current serving military and veterans of all eras to experience one of most sought after tickets in football. For many, this bowl game will create unforgettable memories and smiles for their family and friends by making them feel appreciated by and connected to their community.”
During the game, the Allstate Sugar Bowl and Vet Tix will jointly recognize the military service of all veterans, active servicemen, servicewomen and reservists in attendance with a patriotic “Salute to Service.”
“This partnership with Vet Tix allows the Sugar Bowl Committee to show its support to the many people who have serve our country, both past and present” said Jeff Hundley, the chief executive officer of the Allstate Sugar Bowl. “We hope the opportunity to enjoy a great football game between two top-ranked teams will make them feel appreciated for their efforts and sacrifices.”
Vet Tix, a national nonprofit, provides tickets to events which reduce stress, strengthen family bonds, build life-long memories and encourage service members and veterans to stay engaged with local communities and American life. Vet Tix supports our troops by honoring their service and providing positive family and life experiences, during and after their years of service to our country.
The Allstate Sugar Bowl has established itself as one of the premier college football bowl games, having hosted 28 national champions, 93 Hall of Fame players, 50 Hall of Fame coaches and 18 Heisman Trophy winners in its 85-year history. The 86th Allstate Sugar Bowl Football Classic, featuring top teams from the Big 12 and the SEC, will be played on January 1, 2020. In addition to football, the Sugar Bowl Committee annually invests over $1.6 million into the community through the hosting and sponsorship of sporting events, awards and clinics. Through these efforts, the organization supports and honors nearly 100,000 student-athletes each year, while injecting over $2.5 billion into the local economy in the last decade.
