Sugar Bowl Hosts 68 Volleyball Teams for AAU Regional park
The Allstate Sugar Bowl sponsored the 2014 Girls Volleyball AAU Super Regionals hosted by Louisiana Volleyball on May 30-31 at Loyola University and the Hilton Rivercenter. The event featured 68 teams and over 700 young athletes from nine different states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, New York, Tennessee and Texas) playing multiple matches over the two-day event. It is the sixth year that the Sugar Bowl has sponsored the event.

Age Group Champions:
12-Year Olds: Crescent City Juniors won the tournament in pool play with a 5-1 record
13-Year Olds: NOLA 13 Rachel won the tournament in pool play with a 6-0 record
14-Year Olds: Asics Louisiana def. NOLA 14 Dana, 2-0 (25-8, 25-21)
16-Year Olds: Blue Crab Blue def. Asics Louisiana Black, 2-1 (25-20, 19-25, 15-9)
17-Year Olds: BVCAL Black def. West Florida Waves, 2-1 (25-19, 19-25, 15-7)
18-Year Olds: Volleyball Baton Rouge won the tournament in pool play, finishing 6-0
In addition to sponsoring the New Orleans AAU Super Regionals in recent years, the Sugar Bowl also sponsors an annual collegiate volleyball classic hosted by Tulane University and it sponsored the JVA World Challenge in 2010.
The mission of the Allstate Sugar Bowl is to sponsor and promote amateur sporting events which will foster revenue and spark economic growth in the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana. Through all of its year-round slate of events, the organization has generated over $2 billion of economic impact for the city and the state in the last decade alone.
