Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Golf Championship
For the seventh straight year, Tulane University and the Allstate Sugar Bowl will team up to bring many of the nation’s top women’s collegiate golfers to the Crescent City for the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Golf Championship (February 19-21, 2017) at the English Turn Golf & Country Club. The three-day, 54-hole event will feature 18 holes each day on the par-72, 6,105-yard course.
The 2016 field included eight teams ranked in the top 25 in the post-fall rankings (No. 3 UCLA, No. 6 Stanford, No. 9 Arizona, No. 10 Oklahoma State, No. 11 Alabama, No. 12 Florida, No. 19 Virginia and No. 23 Michigan State).
The University of Florida placed four golfers in the top-25 as the Gators held off a final-day charge by Oklahoma State to win the 2016 championship. The 11th-ranked Gators finished with a three-day total of 862 strokes, edging the No. 13 Cowgirls, who finished at 963. No. 7 Alabama was third at 868 while No. 12 Arizona (870) and No. 27 Texas (879) rounded out the top five. Tulane tallied an 881 to finish in a sixth-place tie with No. 4 UCLA, the tournament’s defending champion.
