Join the College Football Playoff Philanthropic Initiative park
The official philanthropic initiative of the College Football Playoff is Extra Yard for Teachers. The program, supported through the College Football Playoff Foundation, honors and supports teachers nationally and in the communities that host the College Football Playoff National Championship and Playoff Semifinals. The Allstate Sugar Bowl will host one of the inaugural College Football Playoff Semifinals on Jan. 1, 2015 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
The College Football Playoff Foundation has partnered with DonorsChoose.org to support education through the Extra Yard for Teachers initiative.
Extra Yard for Teachers consists of four program components: direct provision of resources, teacher recognition, inspiring a college-going culture, and professional development and leadership training. Through its partnership with DonorsChoose.org, the College Football Playoff Foundation will have the tools necessary to provide and direct financial support to assist public school teachers with classroom project requests. Additional funding for the program will come from licensing revenue associated with College Football Playoff merchandise sales, donations, grants and sponsorships.
ESPN will team with the College Football Playoff Foundation through both financial support and a commitment to engage in meaningful, multiplatform storytelling about the impact of great teachers and mentors in our communities. Further details about Extra Yard for Teachers will be announced leading up to the 2015 College Football Playoff National Championship.
Individuals can also make direct donations to the College Football Playoff Foundation.
