Fifth College Football Playoff Rankings Released

(November 28, 2017) – The Selection Committee for the College Football Playoff (CFP) released its fifth rankings of the year on Tuesday evening. The group’s Top 25 was officially announced on a live ESPN broadcast. The committee will complete its final rankings on Sunday morning following the conference championship games. The CFP will announce the playoff pairings live on ESPN at 11:30 a.m. Central, followed by the full Top-25 being released on ESPN at 1 p.m.

The Allstate Sugar Bowl (Monday, January 1, 2018) will host two of the top four teams in one of the College Football Playoff Semifinals. The other Playoff Semifinal will be hosted by the Rose Bowl, also on January 1.

The Allstate Sugar Bowl will host the Big 12 and the SEC seven times in the next 10 years. The other three seasons (2017, 2020 and 2023), the Allstate Sugar Bowl will serve as a College Football Playoff Semifinal.
