Fourth College Football Playoff Rankings Released

(November 21, 2017) – The Selection Committee for the College Football Playoff (CFP) released its fourth rankings of the year on Tuesday evening. The group’s Top 25 was officially announced on a live ESPN broadcast. The committee will release another set of rankings (Tuesday, Nov. 21) before announcing the final rankings on Sunday, December 3. The CFP will announce the playoff pairings live on ESPN at 11:30 a.m. Central on December 3; the full Top-25 will be released on ESPN at 1 p.m.

“It was a week of stability at almost every level,” said selection committee chairman Kirby Hocutt. “The committee works off a clean sheet of paper. Each week we rank teams based on a full season of performance.”

The Allstate Sugar Bowl (Monday, January 1, 2018) will host two of the top four teams in one of the College Football Playoff Semifinals. The other Playoff Semifinal will be hosted by the Rose Bowl, also on January 1.

The Allstate Sugar Bowl will host the Big 12 and the SEC seven times in the next 10 years. The other three seasons (2017, 2020 and 2023), the Allstate Sugar Bowl will serve as a College Football Playoff Semifinal.

Third College Football Playoff Rankings Released

(November 14, 2017) – The Selection Committee for the College Football Playoff (CFP) released its third rankings of the year on Tuesday evening. The group’s Top 25 was officially announced on a live ESPN broadcast. The committee will replace two more sets of rankings (Tuesday, Nov. 21 and Tuesday, Nov. 28) before announcing the final rankings on Sunday, December 3 (11 a.m. Central) on ESPN.
