Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Golf ChampionshipFor the sixth straight year, Tulane University and the Allstate Sugar Bowl will team up to bring many of the nation’s top women’s collegiate golfers to the Crescent City for the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Golf Championship (Feb. 21-23, 2016) at the English Turn Golf & Country Club. The three-day, 54-hole event typically features 18 holes each day on the par-72, 6,105-yard course.
The 2016 field includes eight teams ranked in the top 25 in the post-fall rankings (No. 3 UCLA, No. 6 Stanford, No. 9 Arizona, No. 10 Oklahoma State, No. 11 Alabama, No. 12 Florida, No. 19 Virginia and No. 23 Michigan State).
LSU, ranked No. 16 in the country, turned in an outstanding performance to capture the title at the 2015 tournament. The Tigers wrapped up the championship on Tuesday, holding off six other teams ranked in the nation’s Top 25, as well as No. 31 Tulane, the host of the event, which finished in a tie for fourth place.
The Tigers led from wire-to-wire to claim the 2015 team title. No. 4 UCLA, the defending champion, and Florida tied for the runner-up spot and Tulane and No. 10 Arizona each tied for fourth place. The LSU duo of Madelene Sagstrom and Caroline Nistrup tied for first place and finished as co-champions.
