The roundball schedule began with the second annual Allstate Sugar Bowl National Prep Classic in January; it continued with the Primetime Super 60 tourney and will wrap up with the 59th annual New Orleans CYO High School Tournament in December. In addition, the Sugar Bowl Committee was a key part of the Local Organizing Committee for the 2012 NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four this spring and will fill the same role for the 2013 NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four next spring.
The mission of the Allstate Sugar Bowl is to sponsor and promote amateur sporting events which will foster revenue and spark economic growth in the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana. Through all of its year-round slate of events, the organization has generated over $2 billion of economic impact for the city and the state in the last decade alone.
