Each of three years of the Prep Showcase featured John Curtis Christian School from River Ridge, La., and St. Paul's School from Covington, La. Curtis defeated Westgate High (Lafayette, La.,), 27-7, in 2011, then rolled to an impressive 33-3 win over nationally-ranked Tampa (Fla.) Plante High in 2012. In 2013, the Patriots met their match as nationally-ranked St. Thomas Aquinas, from Fort Lauderdale, posted a 27-13 win.
St. Paul's, meanwhile, established a pattern of thrilling games in the event. In 2013, with the score tied at 21, the Wolves' Grant Hebert connected on a 33-yard field goal to defeat Jesuit of New Orleans with no time on the clock. In 2011, the Wolves topped Acadiana of Lafayette, 15-14, on a touchdown pass with 42 seconds to go; and last year, they lost 14-13 after Lincoln High from Tallahasse, Fla., returned a fourth-quarter interception for a touchdown.
