  • Starred for the Tulane basketball team from 1946-49, leading the Green Wave to its best season, 24-4 in 1947-48.
  • Actually began school at Tulane in 1941, but served four years in the air corps during World War II (though he didn't see overseas duty.
  • An All-SEC First-Team selection in 1947 and 1949.
  • Tulane, coached by Greater New Orleans Sports Hall of Famer Cliff Wells, posted a 69-16 record during his three years on the squad.
  • Three-time member of the the 300-point club for single-season scoring at Tulane.
  • Scored 330 points during the 1948-49 season.
  • In the starting lineup for the first-ever NBA game when his Tri-City Blackhawks played the Denver Nuggets in Moline, Ill., on Oct. 30, 1949.
  • Lettered in three sports (basketball, baseball and track & field) for Tulane and four for Warren Easton High School.
  • An all-city selection in his only season playing basketball at Warren Easton.
  • Also participated in baseball, track & field and swimming at Easton, capturing a Junior AAU diving championship and a state title in the breaststroke. 
  • After two years in the fledgling NBA, he attended the Chicago School of Podiatry and went on to t a52-year medical career, while also spending time as an assistant coach at Tulane and as Chairman of the New Orleans Open golf tournament.
  • Charter member of the Tulane Athletics Hall of Fame in 1977 - and the first basketball player in the Tulane Hall.
  • Also a member of the Louisiana Basketball Hall of Fame and the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame (2007).
