MEDIA GUIDELINES
Media HotelThe New Orleans Marriott at the Convention Center is the media hotel. It is located at 859 Convention Center Blvd., about a mile east of the Louisiana Superdome. Reservations for the media hotel (and special media rate) must be requested at the same time as credentials at the official credentialing website. The majority of the media opportunities will be at the hotel; those not at the hotel will be accessible by complimentary shuttle service, therefore rental cars are not essential (the hotel only has valet parking at approximately $30 per day). Complimentary internet will be available in the media work room ONLY.

Media Headquarters, Work and Hospitality Rooms and the Formal Press Conference Interview Rooms are located on the street level of the hotel in the Crescent City Ballrooms A-F. Credentials must be worn at all times.

Credential Pick-UpCredential pick-up is located in the Fleur De Lis Room. No credential changes or additions will be made 72 hours prior to the game. All credentials will have photos and a photo ID must be shown to pick up credentials.

Credentials may be picked up at the Media Hotel in the Fleur De Lis Room (Check Media Schedule for times). The credential pickup at the hotel will end at 2 p.m. on gameday and resume at 4 p.m. at the Louisiana Superdome, Gate A until halftime. All credentials must be picked up before that time. Media gifts will be distributed when you check in at the hotel only. If you didn't upload a photo during the online credential process, please be patient when you come to pick up your credential as it will take just a few minutes to process.

Press ConferencesAll daily press conferences, except for post-game, will be conducted in the Crescent City Ballrooms C-F on the main floor of the hotel.

An audio and video pool feed will be available at all press conferences.

Please check the daily schedule of events for press conference times.

All Audio and Video in the main interview area must be taken from the POOL FEED area just outside the doors of Crescent City Ballroom F.

No television cameras, except for the Allstate Sugar Bowl and the television rights holder FOX will be allowed in the broadcast interview room during press conferences (all others must take the feed).

Individual audio is allowed in the print interview room in Crescent City Ballroom C following the main press conferences that involve player interviews.

Media Work AreaThe Media Work Area will be in Crescent City Ballrooms A-B. This area will be set up school room style with pool phone lines, internet capabilities (COMPLIMENTARY WIRELESS), a copier and a limited number of computers free for your use. The workroom will be open daily from 7a.m. -10 p.m. from Dec. 27-Dec. 31 and from 7 a.m.- 1 p.m. on game day (closed during the game). All times subject to change. Internet service in individual rooms must be paid for through the hotel.

Media Hospitality RoomThe Riverbend Ballroom, located on the second floor, is designated as the Media Hospitality Area.  The hospitality area will be opened daily from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. during bowl week and will be closed during the game. Snacks and beverages will be available as well as some interactive games. Meals will also be served in the hospitality room - check daily schedules for times.

Team media bowl information (media guides, notes, quote sheets and updates), week-long schedule of events, as well as changes to the agenda will be made available in the Media Hospitality Room.

Media MealsA continentel breakfast will be served each morning from Dec. 27-Jan. 1. Lunch will also be served from Dec. 29-Jan. 1. There will be media receptions with appetizers on Dec. 29 and Dec. 31. We will host a media party at Pat O'Brien's on Bourbon Street on Dec. 30 - you must have a ticket to attend the media party and must show your credential for meals/receptions at the hotel.

Media CredentialsMedia credentials must be worn at all times during press conferences and practice sessions. Media credentials must also be worn during any media function in the Louisiana Superdome.

Media OpportunitiesPlease refer to the Media Schedule of Events for dates and times of press conferences. Four formal press conferences, which involve coaches and selected players from each team, are scheduled during the week.

Media ServicesThe Allstate Sugar Bowl will have daily information, including quotes, updated on its website at www.AllstateSugarBowl.org.

We will not fax/email individual information to out-of-town media outlets. Out-of-town media may obtain information from our website and may request to have a Bowl postgame package of information faxed/emailed to them via our fax back/email blast system.

Shuttle ServiceThere will be a free shuttle service from the media hotel to all official bowl events, such as open team practices, press conferences and the media party. Hotel parking in New Orleans tends to be expensive; a rental car should not be necessary for official events.
 
Practice SitesPractice sites chosen for the 2010 Allstate Sugar Bowl will be the Louisiana Superdome, Tulane University and Saints Practice Facility.  Shuttle service will be provided from the Marriott New Orleans at the Convention Center to and from the practice sites. A shuttle schedule will be posted at Media Headquarters. The addresses for the sites are posted in the media center and online at the media website.

Media PartyThere will be a media party during Sugar Bowl Week at Pat O'Briens Bar on Bourbon Street. A valid ticket for the event is required for entrance. Shuttle service will be provided. 
 
Post-Game BuffetFollowing the 76th annual Allstate Sugar Bowl, there will be a post-game media buffet in the Riverbend Ballroom at the media hotel. The meal will be served until 3 a.m. Credential MUST be worn; the event is ONLY for credentialed media. Further information will be provided at Media Headquarters.

New Year's EveNew Year's Eve is a very popular holiday in New Orleans. For media hoping for a nice dinner, there are many restaurants within walking distance of the media hotel, as well as ample cabs. However, advanced reservations are recommended. The hotel concierge can be of assistance. For the adventurous types, the French Quarter is only a short walk - and is sure to provide entertainment.


GAME DAY
Media Entrance/Will CallAll media must enter the Louisiana Superdome through the Media Entrance located at Gate A. Media Will Call will be located at Gate A, Poydras St. side (ground level), and will open at 4:00 p.m.

ParkingThere is no media parking at the Louisiana Superdome. Members of the media are encouraged to take the Media Shuttle to and from the Louisiana Superdome before and after the game.

Pre-Game MealA pre-game meal will be served in the main press box area for media members who are seated in that area and the auxiliary press box.

Photographers, digital work area members and those members of the media who will be working on the ground level will be served next to the Digital Work Area on the ground level, near Elevator 8. Both meals are the same, this is just due to space constraints.

Members of the Allstate Sugar Bowl Committee and staff will be on hand in the 3rd Floor Press Areas, Field Level press warehouse, workrooms and interview areas to assist with your questions and needs.

Seating charts are located near the elevators and inside the press area.

All media seats in the 3rd floor press box will have a game program, flip card and notes.

There will be a print media workroom on the field level across from the digital workroom.

All photographers and videographers can pick up flip cards at the photographer check in point located by the elevator 9 field entrance.

The play-by-play and statistics will be distributed at the conclusion of each quarter in all areas.  Post-game quotes and final books will be distributed as soon as possible at the conclusion of the game.

This year's trophy presentations of the winning team will be held on the field. The runner-up trophy will be presented in the interview warehouse. The team post-game press conferences are conducted in the interview warehouse, with a video feed to the 3rd floor press area. Members of the media who are in the 3rd floor press box, will be allowed on the sideline in a restricted area during the last five minutes of the game. POST GAME FIELD INTERVIEWS WITH PLAYERS FROM THE WINNING TEAM ONLY are allowed, but must not affect the trophy presentation.

Courtesy TelephonesThere will be a bank of 6-8 courtesy pool phones for use in the back of the main press box. The phone lines are toll-restricted, calling card calls. If you ordered a personal phone line, you must supply your own phone instrument.

Internet AccessFree wireless internet access is available in the 3rd Floor Press Box areas, as well as the digital workroom and media workroom on the field level, compliments of the Allstate Sugar Bowl. If you have trouble logging on, please ask an Allstate Sugar Bowl Press Box representative for assistance.

Post-GameThe following guidelines have been established by the BCS Commissioners to be followed for the media events of the 76th Allstate Sugar Bowl:

There will be a 10-minute cooling off period for the runner-up team before the head coach and two players appear at the post game press conference. The winning team will be entitled to a 15-minute cooling off period. The winning team's cooling off period will begin after the conclusion of the trophy presentation. The locker rooms will be open to the media for 30 minutes following the cooling off period, but only AFTER requested players depart for the formal interview areas.

Interview Rooms & AccessThere will be limited sideline access to the field for media that were seated in the main press box and auxiliary press seating area. This will begin with 5 minutes left in the game. Media will also be escorted to the interview warehouse on the ground level.  The runner-up coach and two players will be available on the main platform of the interview warehouse area. The winning coach and two players will be available after the cooling off period. In addition, three players from each team will be brought to the individual interview area, directly across from the interview warehouse.

The locker room will also be open and remain open for the media for 30 minutes following the team's cooling off periods.

We will run the post-game interview sessions from the interview warehouse on a feed on the television monitors in the main press box and press workroom warehouse.

The interview area as well as the field (in a restricted sideline area) will be available for access in the 4th quarter with five minutes remaining in the game. POST GAME FIELD INTERVIEWS WITH PLAYERS FROM THE WINNING TEAM ONLY are allowed, but must not affect the trophy presentation.

Final stats will be made available to the interview area as soon as possible.

Members of the Allstate Sugar Bowl Media Relations Staff, as well as ASAP Sports quote service, will be taking quotes at both press conferences, with individual players on the risers directly across from the interview warehouse and quickie quotes on the field immediately after the game. 

A "multi box" will be located in the back of the interview area for audio feeds and video feeds (must bring correct connectors for feed).

The press box will remain open until all stories have been filed. The Media Hospitality Room at the media hotel will be open after the game and a post-game buffet will be served in the Riverbend Ballroom until 3 a.m.
