Sunday, November 1, 2009

Florida remained No. 1 in the latest BCS Standings after a 41-17 blowout of unranked Georgia, but Texas jumped Alabama into the No. 2 slot after an impressive 41-14 road victory over Big 12 rival Oklahoma State. The Crimson Tide, which had a bye week, checks in at No. 3. The top teams in the final BCS Standings, to be released on Sunday, Dec. 6, will meet in the BCS National Championship game to be played on Jan. 7 in Pasadena, Calif.

Iowa, which came from behind to upend Indiana, 42-24, remains at No. 4 in the standings, while Cincinnati had the biggest jump of the week, moving from No. 8 to No. 5 after a win over Syracuse using its backup quarterback.

TCU and Boise State, both bidding to be this year's "BCS Buster" hold steady at No. 6 and 7, respectively. LSU also held position at No. 9 after shutting out Tulane.

Oregon, fresh off a convincing 47-20 victory over USC, jumped from No. 10 to No. 8. The Ducks are the highest-rated one-loss team, replacing USC, which dropped to No. 12 in the standings. Georgia Tech, the top team in the ACC, moved up one spot to No. 10.

The top games coming up this week involve No. 9 LSU playing at Alabama and No. 16 Ohio State playing at No. 11 Penn State.
