For the Kimball Knights basketball program in Dallas, Texas, the family affair continues.

Legendary coach Goree Johnson piloted the Knights to state championships in 1996 and 1997. After stepping down as head coach to become the Assistant Athletic Director of the Dallas Independent School District, Johnson had a concourse at the Jesse Owens Memorial Complex named after him.

Royce Johnson served as prominent assistant coach on the 1996 and 1997 title winning teams under his father.
