The 2011 Allstate Sugar Bowl is sold out, the Sugar Bowl Committee announced on Tuesday. This year's game (Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011) will feature Ohio State University and the University of Arkansas and will be televised live by ESPN from the Louisiana Superdome beginning at 7:30 p.m. (Central). The 77th annual Sugar Bowl Classic will feature over 70,000 fans for the 58th time in its history.
While the game is sold out, the Allstate Sugar Bowl would like to remind fans that a variety of hotel/ticket packages are still available through DMI Travel.
In addition, fans can take part in the only official pre-game hospitality party by signing up with PrimeSport.
Finally, for fans choosing the secondary-ticket market to purchase tickets, the Allstate Sugar Bowl recommends TicketsNow as the only official, safe way to use this service.
The bowl is unable to verify the validity of tickets purchased from other third-party Sources; the original ticket purchasers are the only ones who mat request a reprint as well.
In addition to the college football game, the Allstate Sugar Bowl will sponsor its annual Fan Fest on Sunday, Jan. 2 and Monday, Jan. 3 from 12-8 p.m. each day next to the Hard Rock Café on Decatur Street (adjacent to Jax Brewery) in the French Quarter. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a family-oriented celebration including special events, fan activities, music and other activities. All at no charge! The highlight of the event will be a free concert by rising country-music star Darius Rucker on Monday evening at 6 p.m.
The Allstate Sugar Bowl has established itself as one of the premier bowl games in the country, having hosted 22 national champions, 78 Hall of Fame players, 44 Hall of Fame coaches and 15 Heisman Trophy winners in its 76-year history. After this year's game, the organization will host both the Allstate Sugar Bowl Classic and the BCS National Championship Game in 2012.
