Celebrate the Sugar Bowl With a Second-Line Parade
Thursday, December 26, 2013
Fans of the Oklahoma Sooners and the Alabama Crimson Tide, as well as fans of good old-fashioned French Quarter fun, are invited to celebrate the Allstate Sugar Bowl with a Second Line Parade through the French Quarter on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 11:30 a.m.
The spouses of the official traveling parties for Oklahoma and Alabama will join the Landry-Walker High School Marching Band as well as a jazz band, team cheerleaders, small floats, horse-drawn carriages and other traditional parade staples.
The parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Pat O'Brien's and will proceed from the corner of St. Peter and Royal streets, then uptown on Royal Street to Bienville Street and then lakebound on Bienville to the front of Arnaud's Restaurant for its finish.
